The curriculum of East Texas Christian School is rooted in a strong phonics-based program with all subjects taught from a Christian worldview. All elementary level students attend classes in music, PE, and computer and all high school student are offered a foreign language. Strong reading and writing skills are emphasized in every subject area and grade level. The Stanford Achievement Tests are used for assessment.
ETCS students routinely score one to two years above grade level on these achievement tests. Secondary students are also able to develop physical strength and character through participation in an inter-scholastic sports program for both girls and boys and a number of electives. We also offer participation in dual credit hours, honors classes and academic competitions.
The goal of our academic program is to provide an excellent preparation for our students to be successful at the college level.
Curriculum resources used at East Texas Christian School include A Beka Book Publications, Bob Jones University Press, and the Saxon math program.
